    Chapter 2: Bodyweight Exercises

    Summary

This video provides a beginner body weight workout routine for general strengthening. The routine consists of 7 exercises, each done for 30 seconds with the goal of doing as many repetitions as possible. The first exercise is body weight squats to work out the quads and glutes. If unable to do a body weight squat, sitting down and standing up from a chair is a good alternative. The next exercise is calf raises, which helps strengthen the quads as well as improve balance and proprioception. Hanging onto a chair or the wall is optional. The third exercise is hamstring curls, done by curling the back of the leg up while holding onto a chair. This routine is meant to be done once a day to build a foundation in resistance training.
